A letter from the CSISD Education Foundation:
Thanks to Pride Cleaners, Grant Patrol 2021 was a huge success! With your support, the CSISD Education Foundation awarded 70 innovative teaching grants at all 19 campuses totaling a record-breaking $337,965! Foundation board members, staff and community partners walked the halls of our CSISD schools to celebrate all of the grant winners! Two grants were awarded on your behalf and we are pleased to share information and pictures about the grants you made possible.
Grant Name: ‘Shut the Box’ with Family and Friends!
Description: Math teachers will collaborate to teach students how to play the ‘Shut the Box’ board game; students can utilize it at school with friends or at home with family members.
Campus: South Knoll Elementary School
Amount: $3,158.00
Grant Name: High Interest Graphic Novels and Books
Description: Having diverse books and graphic novels available will develop empathy by helping students relate to people who are different from them. Images are powerful and the art in graphic novels makes it easier for readers to relate to the characters and imagine how it would feel to be in a similar situation, which builds empathy and social awareness.
Campus: Oakwood Intermediate
Amount: $207.00
